You can either have a session manually recorded or automatically recorded. These options can be changed while creating the session or can be edited after the session is created.
If it is automatically recorded, then you don't have to worry about manually starting it
If it is set to manual record, then click the red circle in the bottom left of the Elluminate session after it has been started. This will start the recording.
There is a pause button next to the record button. At any time during the recording, the moderator can pause the recording and start it back up again at his or her discretion.
JAVA tips for working in Elluminate with Windows.
Elluminate is a JAVA-based program and if you are having problems with Elluminate, you need to diagnose your JAVA setup first. Please read the entire instructions below (especially step 8, since that may be all you need to do) before proceeding with the JAVA steps outlined:
If you are having sound or other types difficulties in Elluminate I suggest the following:
1) Download the most recent version of JAVA on your computer. You can test if you have the right version by going to: http://www.elluminate.com/support/
2) At the link above, you can also join the configuration room to test and troubleshoot your audio.
3) To get the latest Windows compatible version of Java go to: http://www.java.com/en/
4) For other operating systems go to: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
5) Make sure you have only one version of JAVA on your Windows machine by going to the control panel; go to add or remove programs and delete (uninstall) the older version of JAVA. You may also wish to delete the old JAVA before you download the newer version.
6) To optimize Java once you have done the preceding do the following:
a. Go to the control panel and open JAVA
b. Click on settings
c. Click on delete files. Make sure that both boxes in the popup are checked. Then click OK. This will delete the JAVA cache. This step may need to be done periodically if your newer Java version does not work correctly
d. Then select the disk size cache value of 256 MB with the slider and click OK.
7) You can also test your sound configuration from the drop-down tools panel when in Elluminate. Select “Audio Setup Wizard” to test your configuration.
8) Before trying the above steps go to the control panel, select “sounds” or “sounds and audio devices.” Make sure that on the volume tab that the volume is not set to mute and the volume slider is not set on low. Then on both the audio and voice tabs, make sure you have selected the right devices for microphone and speakers before you start the Elluminate session. If you are using an external headset, especially a USB type, be sure that you make this the device chosen.
